Command line Mp3 recorder
Simple free command line utility to record PC sound (microphone, line-in and stereo mixer) as file in mp3 format. It is an ideal solution for automation and sound logging. Available for Windows and Mac OS X. Latest version for Windows also can be used to record audio streams.
The utility has two modes:
Interactive mode - asks user for all required parameters before recording started.
Silent mode - if run with command line having at least one parameter the utility reads all required values from given command line parameters (or use defaults) and starts recording.
You can use command line sound recorder to record microphone sound, stereo mixer sound or any other available sound sources. The sound recorded as MP3 44100 Hz 128 kbits format file. This quality of sound is good enough to record movie or YouTube audio tracks.
Unfortunately Mac OS X does not allow to use stereo mix as sound source. It is well known problem and exists no working workaround at moment. We know about soundflower but it is not always properly working solution. You also can't use stereo mix on Windows 7 if you have no Windows 7 compatible sound card drivers. If you have Windows 7 compatible sound card then you can enable stereo mix device.

You can download full featured version of product. This is free version without any restrictions.
Recently AudioSoftware released new version of Mp3 recorder for Windows and now you can record Internet radio and listen to recordings and songs later on your computer or any MP3 compatible device. You can easily record multiple MP3 streams at the same time.
